Kelly Clinton’s Open Mic Cabaret

"She's Back!" So shouts the poster in the lobby of the Bootlegger Bistro on South Las Vegas Boulevard. Yes, Kelly Clinton is back, hosting her "Open Mic Cabaret" every Monday night. It's the best show deal in town, and the pizza's not bad, either. Continue reading »

Dad and the Atomic Testing Museum

All my fantasies have turned to ashes. One afternoon at the Atomic Testing Museum shattered my illusions, and even a clicking Geiger counter couldn’t find all the tiny pieces of my dreams. Continue reading »

The M Resort: Great Views and Wine by the Sip

The M Resort opened this month, extending the Las Vegas Strip seven miles south, into Henderson. Is that good news or bad news for locals? Very good, if you ask me. The M comes with nice architecture, good food, beautiful views and an interesting Italian wine-serving gizmo called the Enomatic. Continue reading »
