Vegas Values: More to Love at M Resort

The M Resort Spa & Casino celebrated its first anniversary in March. I fell for the property opening night and previously shared that is my favorite casino in the local’s market. I’m happy to report my warm feelings remain. As time passes my fondness has only grown.

My husband and I recently stopped in for dinner at Marinelli’s which boasts regional Italian cuisine and selections from the Marnell family recipe collection. Booth and table seating is available in the stylish restaurant, outdoor seating is also offered on the terrace overlooking the Villaggio Del Sole Pool and Entertainment Piazza. High winds kept us from enjoying the terrace, but we were still able to take in the lovely sunset from our comfortable table on the main dining floor.

We got started with a basket of fresh breads, and a complimentary antipasto plate consisting of salami, parmesan, sun-dried tomato, olives and marinated mushrooms and artichoke. We enjoyed sampling everything. The bright flavors encouraged us to order the family’s own Italian Chop Salad. Bite-sized pieces of salami, veggies and sweet tomatoes were married with mustard vinaigrette. It was light, crisp and refreshing. Our server happily split the order for us to share.

Next we moved onto comfort foods, onion and cheese risotto and orecchiette. Both dishes also come from the Marnell’s recipe collection. I regularly see risottos on menus, but this was the first I saw onions showcased. Caramelized Cipollini onions give a sweet bite to an otherwise savory blend of parmesan, and white wine-herbed risotto. The orecchiette is rich with a creamy ricotta sauce, roasted chicken and spinach. Each entrée was beautifully executed and equally delicious. Our only regret was being too full to sample dessert. Each of M’s fine dining restaurants now offer a dessert tasting menu choose from a dozen temptations: one option is just $4, two for $7 and three for $10.

Our tab for dinner came to $64. It’s was a strip quality meal at a fraction of the cost. For additional savings watch for promotions, a recent e-blast has 25% off your total check at Marinelli’s, Terzetto and Veloce Cibo. Click here for other dining promotions.

After our meal we stopped at the iMagine Rewards booth to buy tickets for Steve Miller Band. The show is tonight, tickets priced from $39.95 are still available. I opted to purchase the tickets in person after learning that it would save me Ticketmaster fees. I saved $15.75 by doing so. For even more bang for my buck, Budweiser presents the Jack FM Party Zone before the concert from 7-9 pm Friday, May 21 my general admission ticket provides me access to the Party Zone with dancing, drink specials, and prize giveaways. The Party Zone pre-party will also take place before the Huey Lewis and The News concert on May 29, 2010. Tickets for that show are also priced from $39.95. Both shows will be held in the Villaggio Del Sole Entertainment Piazza.

Lastly, now that the mercury is rising you can seek refuge at theThe M Resort’s sparkling pool. The entrance fee is just $10 for local residents; and $15 for non-locals.

Whether you’re seeking great dining, fine entertainment or pure relaxation M Resort has you covered.

  1. Sadly, the concert never happened. The rain or shine concert was cancelled due to the high winds. Instead, we had a great time at The Ravello Lounge.
