Vegas Values: A Hidden Gem

Nestled among the desert and mountain landscape in south Summerlin is Siena Golf Club. It’s been named “Nevada’s 2010 Course of the Year” by Nevada Golf Course Owners Association. It features Lake Siena, lush greens and a Tuscan-themed clubhouse.

Located within the clubhouse is Siena Bistro. It is a full-service restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. Meals can be enjoyed alfresco on the private patio with large fireplace or lake-side with panoramic views of the golf course and the Las Vegas Strip in the distance. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual; you’ll feel like you’ve been swept far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You’ll be left to relish the fresh rosemary-scented air while soaking up sunshine, enjoying an evening sunset, or dining under a starry sky.

The Bistro serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. Chef Daniel Concepcion takes pride in creating a diversified menu that showcases his own flair. Start your day with a Frittata Siena Style ($9). Eggs are baked fluffy with spinach, sun dried tomatoes, crème fraiche and fresh basil. Or another personal favorite, Eggs Carbonara ($7) which are scrambled with fresh basil, cream, parmesan cheese, green onion, and bacon. Waffles, pancakes and crepes ($6) are also available if you prefer sweet to savory. Grab a bite for lunch or dinner and enjoy a variety of salads ($8-$12), starters ($6-$11), sandwiches ($7-$11) and entrees ($12-$22). Chef Concepcion prepares a number of exclusive dishes featuring pastas, beef, chicken and seafood.

Prices are pretty reasonable considering the setting, attentive service and beautifully presented dishes. However, if you’d like to save some coin; coupons are available. The first is courtesy of CityCoups, an online coupon website, but act quickly the offer expires 5/31/2010. The 2010 Entertainment Book offers additional discounts, such as 20% off the total bill.

Periodically, throughout the year, Siena Bistro hosts special wine dinners and holiday buffets. This Sunday, Siena Bistro will celebrate Mother’s Day with a Champagne Brunch. The price is $32 for adults and $16 per child. Offerings include prime rib, an omelet and pasta station, salmon, chicken, a variety of vegetables and assorted cheeses, and a selection of desserts. Furthermore, for special occasions, the Bistro is a perfect venue for gatherings and receptions. Siena can accommodate small groups to corporate golf tournaments and intimate or large weddings.
