The arrival of February means two things: Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day. Last week, I gave the scoop on Big Game parties. Today, I’ll offer up different ways to spend the upcoming holiday. Valentine’s Day falls on a Monday this year (mark your calendars, it is February 14, 2011). However, in Las Vegas, love will be in the air the full weekend leading up to it. Some specials are even honored all month long, which is especially great for those of you looking to avoid the crowds.
Las Vegas is the marriage capital, and Valentine’s Day is the busiest day of the year for weddings. It’s also a popular time to pop the question. Top romantic spots include the Fountains at Bellagio, Gondolas at Venetian, and the Eiffel Tower at Paris. Additionally, restaurants up and down the strip are willing to assist in making your proposal extra special. Simply call the restaurant of choice in advance to discuss plans.
Maybe you’ve confessed your love for your one and only and you’re looking for a great meal instead?
There is no shortage of romantic restaurants in Las Vegas. Take your pick from the following, and make reservations in advance: Andre’s at Monte Carlo is decadent and cozy, Alize at the Palms has delectable eats and stunning strip views. Mandalay Bay’s Aureole has the striking wine tower, but the intimate Swan Court is particularly lovely. Hugo’s Cellar at the Four Queens offers a classic romantical evening downtown, Marche Bacchus has lakeside dining, Stratosphere’s Top of the World Restaurant offers 360-degree views of the entire city every 80 minutes, and the Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris and Bellagio’s Circo, Le Cirque, Prime and Yellowtail serve dazzling treats and provide spectacular views of the Fountains of Bellagio.
Several restaurants present special menus for the holiday:
