For three days last week, chairs, lighting, fabrics, fixtures, art and flooring were on display at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Interior designers, contractors, developers and architects came to Las Vegas for HD (Hospitality Design) Expo 2019.
The Emerald Expositions event, in association with the American Society of Interior Designers, Boutique and Lifestyle Lodging Associations, The Commercial Interior Design Association, the International Society of Hospitality Purchasers and The Hospitality Industry Network expected an attendance of at least 12,500.
Show attendees had an opportunity to see and test products for planned surroundings in person. They sat in the chairs and sofas; they felt the fabrics; they stood on the tile and carpet; they took pictures and collected brochures. Long-time business friends reconnected. New ideas were introduced, and as is usual at industry meetings in Las Vegas, a number of conference sessions accompanied the Expo.
Among the conference topics were, “Wellness Today: How Spaces Can Impact Lives..and Our Future,” “Brand Identity: Power Players,” “HD Conversations: Disaster Relief: Rebuilding the Caribbean,” “The Future of Urban Planning” and “Sin Ciy Shakeup: What’s New in Las Vegas”.
As usual, I visited the show with video camera in hand.
