This year, she will be 84. He will be 87. They take eight vitamins each, and they are careful (mask-wearing; social distancing, etc.) They also, during Covid, have been going out seven nights a week.
They are Joyce Dickerson and Bob Pinch. They met two and a half years ago at the Skyline Hotel & Casino. She had just broken up with a gentleman friend. He was with three other men who came to Skyline to mingle with whatever single women attended that night. Bob asked Joyce to dance.
Two dances together and the couple both knew something special was happening. He was a widower after 57 years of marriage; she was divorced and was once again single. They have been together ever since.
Together means that though Joyce has a separate apartment, most time is spent at Bob’s home. Joyce has even turned off the electricity to her apartment refrigerator because these days her meals are eaten elsewhere.
Bob says that he and his late wife, Dixie, were country music fans and used to go out a lot. Joyce is a free soul who loved camping and fishing, but wasn’t used to so much nightlife. She says she did indeed divorce her husband of 30 years some years ago because “I wanted to see the world, and he didn’t.” Joyce loves going out now, and even during Covid can be seen chair dancing, singing along and sometimes, on the sly, dancing with Bob her favorite partner.
Joyce and Bob each have a past that includes motorcycle riding, and in Bob’s case, racing motorcycles. Bob’s family members also have been bikers so Bob can talk motorcycles, and Joyce pays attention. Bob retired early; he was part owner of several furniture stores in California. Joyce was a stay-at-home Mom who later became an apartment lease agent in Ohio. Ultimately, they both found their way to Las Vegas.
Where do the two hang out when they go out? They love live music and entertainers. Among their favorite “hangs” are the Piazza Lounge at Tuscany Suites, Saddle n Spurs Saloon, the Italian American Club, The Hideway, Miller’s Tavern, Jack’s Place (yes, Joyce sings karaoke), the German-American Social Club and Bella Vita where the couple “can’t miss” Sundays with entertainer Martin Mancuso. One of their newest discoveries and one that provided them a photo appearance in the Las Vegas Sun is Snappy Burger where in addition to fast food, customers can watch drive-in movies. The big screen is there with sound provided on FM 94.3.
Of course, the above destinations are when the couple is in town. They each have four children and numerous grandchildren, Last year, they were invited to five family weddings which they eagerly attended. (Bob is a good driver, says Joyce.) The couple just recently received their first vaccine shots, so travel will be in their future as well.
As to the couple’s philosophy: It’s no surprise: “Love each day to the fullest.”

What a love story! Not just love for each other, but life itself.
Bob and Joyce my favorite couple. I am Bobs cousin and the same age. They are always on the go and having so much fun. You can see the love on their faces that is between them. Joyce and Bob keep me informed so I feel like I am there too. Keep up all the fun.
Love at first sight can come at any age. Bob and Joyce have the advantage of wisdom that comes with age. Appreciating the joys of sharing some new experiences or going to favorite places is an adventure for them. They talk and listen to each other knowing time is precious.
Bob and Joyce are great examples of love and living life positively.
Joyce & Bob are such an amazing couple! They always come in to my Shows and participate by sharing their incredible energy, shaking the maracas and tambourine and movin’ & groovin’ to the music!! Lisa and I adore them, appreciate them and we love them!!☺☺❤❤
I sure hope I have their energy in a few years. Sounds like they’re lucky to have found each other!
