Sneak Preview of New Nevada Room

A week ago, I was one of several hundred people who were invited to a Special Invited Guest Sneak Preview of the soon-to-open Nevada Room, a new entertainment venue at 953 East Sahara Avenue, a sister to the Vegas Room. The dinners and entertainment at the Vegas Room helped keep me sane during the last year. I’ve had some great meals and seen some of Vegas’s finest entertainers there.

So what about The Nevada Room? I had heard about it (a two-stage area, one a piano bar and one a showroom), but I had not seen the finished renovated product. Friend Libby Hoover and I were pleased to be invited to take a look.

The attached video gives you an idea about the new rooms, but what about the Sneak Preview event itself? It started out like a Mardi Gras parade, with folks in Sunday garb and trumpets playing. We were all given hand sanitizer as we entered and tables and chairs were everywhere. Libby and I had no idea what service would be provided, and soon, waiters and waitresses began offering hors d’oeuvres to the attendees (who did not pay for this evening, incidentally). The hors d’oeuvres were great tasting and they kept coming.

We found a table mid-way between the two rooms and were able to greet a number of friends. Libby went for a drink and let me know that all drinks were on the house as well. At about an hour into our visit, Libby went from our in-between area into the showroom and returned letting me know Jimmy Hopper was appearing in the next room, so off we went. We found seating and for the rest of the night continued to watch the presentations in the Showroom. Those presentations included a number of local entertainers performing a song or two and a very nice welcome and thank-you session led by Vegas Room President Tom Michel. I have included snippets of all of this in the attached video.

When does The Nevada Room officially open for business? “Probably sometime in May,” says Michel. The date is to be announced based on permitting. In the meantime, the smaller Vegas Room continues to offer the supper club experience, and we have our tickets.

Enjoy the video.

  1. Great article about The Nevada Room Bistro and Supper Club. Can’t wait to see the menu and talent lineup!

  2. Enjoyed another “sneak preview” performance, this one for charity, last night. Amanda King was superb as usual. Adding to her appeal are the biographical sketches complementing all her songs. She certainly does her homework! Thank you, Diane.

  3. Great video! Anyone who can’t be out there can get the “feel” of a smaller, off-the-strip venue which promotes wonderful musicians be they vocalists, pianists or instrumentalists. These facilities are very friendly, and committed to making their customers happy. Good food is (or will be) served as more Covid restrictions are lifted and life gets back to normal. TY, Diane!

  4. I loved your video. Great entertainment and story. Congratulations to Tom and David. Can’t wait until it opens.
