A Photo Tour of Galleria (Mall) at Sunset

Galleria at Sunset has been around since 1996.

Galleria at Sunset is the closest mall to my house. Hence, it is the mall my gentleman friend and I choose as a walking site when the weather is hot.

Walking in a mall is nice because its stores and hallway kiosks are interesting. People, children, dogs, window displays, and signs can be endlessly entertaining.

Galleria at Sunset opened in 1996 and is owned by Queensland Investment Corporation, a government-owned company headquartered in Brisbane, Australia. Galleria at Sunset is one of the largest malls in the Las Vegas Valley and features everything from fishing tackle to eyebrow threading.

A couple weeks ago, I walked the mall with camera in-hand. Hope you enjoy.

American Eagle Outfitters has this pair of shorts in its window. OR a similar pair might be found in the trash can at Goodwill — too frayed to sell! The tattered jeans trend has now gone far enough, yes?

Well I’ll be…a pant just for the editor (who has a few pounds to lose and always wears black) and it has been so popular it is being re-introduced!

The store is called Vercini and it sells lots of rhinestones on shoes, shirts and jackets. It is you-know-who’s favorite store.

In the era of selfies, Galleria provides several places with nice surroundings for individual or group photos. Nice.

Many of the stores at Galleria have signs with big discounts or offers to “buy one, get a second one 50% off” or even “buy 3 and get 3 free”. If you are a bargain hunter, just sayin’…

Lots of items are available for sale at Galeria’s many hallway kiosks, this one filled with small, stuffed animals.

My Gym is for very small youngsters who like bouncing and climbing activities. Looking at the kids through the windows is fun.

Galleria at Sunset even features Charlie Chaplain. He is displayed at the Las Vegas Artists’ Guild shop.

A large food court saves shoppers from falling over from starvation and features everything from cinnamon rolls, pretzels and tacos to pizza, cookies and Asian cuisine. Elsewhere in the mall are other food purveyors such as Starbucks and Auntie Anne’s.

Store names in the mall can be interesting. In addition to “torrid”, there is “Attic Salt”, “Bring It Back” and Reckless & Refined”

Having trouble being on time? Zale’s Jewelry has lots of time pieces to choose from. You can have one on each wrist!

Looking around the mall isn’t for everyone. We’re told this little tech expert is just one year old. Already she fixes her parents’ internet problems.

Eyebrow threading is removing eyebrow hairs; return visits every 4 to 6 weeks. The practice originated in Iran.

This is the whole idea. Come to the mall, find something you like and go home with the excitement of something new.

  5. Great photo tour of our nearest mall, as you stated, making for comfortable indoor a-c walking exercise, plus the shopping and good eats. What more could we want?
