On the Sunday before Christmas I finally got my energy together to drive over to the nearest mall, Galleria at Sunset, and do a walk-around. I was in need of exercise, but was actually quite surprised at how crowded the mall was: hallways, stores, the parking lot, the food areas. I’m older now with no children or grandchildren so I am not a shopper, but I did see many families in the mall. They were smiling; they carried lots of packages and something tells me that when this holiday is over, we’ll see some record-setting financial results. I had a camera so I took some photos.
Some folks accompanied women shopping, but ran out of steam. Photo by Diane TaylorEvery store seemed to have a sale price sign–even as high as 80%. Judging from the crowd, the signs must have worked. Thanks for sharing all the pictures from the mall. You made it easy for me to get into the spirit without dealing with the crowds and the traffic congestion
Thank you for the mall tour. Another tour on memory lane. Going to the mall was my family’s past time. My children grew up going to the mall on weekends; going around with friends and eating at the food court. My grandchildren rode the train, the carousel, the horsey rides and had fun in the children’s play area. Sadly, malls are no longer as popular as before. Lots of businesses have closed their doors. People now shop online and it’s understandable. I, myself, no longer go shopping if I can help it. Times have changed indeed.
