Rich Little at 86 — Still Performing

This was the stage at the Copa Room when Rich Little as George Burns was talking to his wife (a drawing by Little) Gracie.

I am a gambler at Tuscany Suites and Casino. I had noticed signs that Rich Little was coming to the Tuscany’s Copa Room, and last Thursday, a friend and I went to the Copa Room to see him.

Rich Little is not young–he’s even older than I am. But he thinks clearly and he was fun. His figure is slim and his voice is clear. Yes, he talks a lot about the stars of the past. He also tells jokes as well and they are funny. He is accompanied by his piano player/assistant Dan Ellis.

Part of Little’s show is nostalgia–of his life and some of the fun he’s had along the way. Video clips are part of the evening and if audience members are like me, they enjoy seeing Dean Martin, George burns, Bing Crosby, etc. in skits with the younger Rich Little.

Little does not look his age (86) on stage and the night we attended he pointed to a very young gal whom he said was an ex-wife and soon to be a wife again. He has a stool on stage and while the videos play he is often on the stool.

Lots of folks in the audience were taking pictures and videos realizing that Rich Little might not be around forever.

Little’s appearances at the Tuscany are called a “residency” courtesy of Producer Dick Feeney. Ticket prices are $49.95 for General Admission; more for VIP status. Dinner and show packages are available as well as group prices.

Little has been performing for decades and it was great to see him again, still looking and sounding great. He appears in the Copa Room Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m.

  1. Good for Rich Little for hanging in there. For those who think 86 equates to a doddering old person ready for the rest home, it may apply to some but not all. For example, you know me. I turned 86 in August and I’m still going strong. So, a bit of nostalgia. I believe it was in the late 80s that I met Rich Little at actor Stewart Granger’s condo in Pacific Palisades. It was Granger’s birthday party and guests included one of his ex wives plus his girlfriend at the time who was Lindsay Wagner’s mother Marilyn Ball, Lindsay, her cousin Greg who was my boyfriend, Rich Little and his wife, Pamela and Portland Mason. Rich little kept us laughing. I wonder if he remembers that birthday party.
